Overview

With the 2020 refresh came this true Dual-B Lug used on models like the Venom and Pegasus.

Here's the thing. They are used on 5.5" deep models, and there are several 5.5" models with either staggered or in-line individual B-Lugs. It was pointed out to me on the Facebook group that staggering the lugs can give the shell a broader tuning range, as the lug bolts can be longer, and have more room to tighten into the lug box than is possible with the Double-Ended B-Lugs. In addition, by the time these were available, there were no true piccolo snares in the range that could have potentially used a double-ended lug, and the shallowest model produced after these became available (the 2020 4⅝" Versatus) uses staggered I lugs anyway.

Given all this, I'm struggling to see the advantage over staggering the lugs, apart from the overal aesthetic of the drum. If you have any insight into this, I'd be genuinely glad to hear it.
