The Black Widow has received a great deal of praise for its sound, looks and build quality over the last 9 years and whilst these sets have been offered over a long period, the ownership club is extremely exclusive. These kits will be a future collectable for sure!

For the Black Widow, Mapex opted for a more conventional 6 ply North American Maple straight shell (no re-rings) with particular attention paid to the bearing edges. For the Toms and Floors the shells are 6 ply 5.1mm, the bass drum is 6 ply 7.2mm thick due to thicker individual plies. The bearing edges are centred with rounded back-cut to produce a classic full bodied and warm tone which they do extremely well.

Like with all the Black Panther kits no attention to detail has been spared! Everything on this kit is Black and is flawlessly executed. The Sonicsaver Hoops, Bass Drum Spurs, Mounting Systems, Rods, Claw Hooks, Vents and Floor Brackets are all finished in Brushed Black Chrome. The shell finish is High Gloss Transparent Black. All the heads on the kit are USA Remo, the toms get White Suede Ambassador Batters over Clear Remo Ambassador Clear, the Bass Drum has White Suede Remo P3 Batter and Reso side heads all bearing the Black Panther logo.

This is an absolute sonic and visual masterpiece from Mapex, this kit will suit a huge variety of genres with a great set of sizes that further enhance the kits overall potential and versatility.
