    12 x 7 Cherry & Maple (Gloss Black)

Overview

The clever money is on this being another variation of the Cherry & Maple model that was given away with purchases of certain ProM kits in 2006, this time in Gloss Black. It does seem quite a bit rarer than it's gloss natural cherry cousin - I didn't even know it existed until it surfaced in a random late night internet crawl in October 2022.

Photos of this model are incredibly thin on the ground, although I managed to find three listings of it online on various selling sites. I have written to all three sellers, but so far I've only recieved a response from one; no reason why they should get back to a random request from an obsessive Scottish drum geek after all! At present therefore, I'm using their photos under fair use. I'm not a great fan of doing this, so if these are your photos, please do get in touch and I'll request permission and credit you properly.

November 2022

The snare advertised on eBay by Paul Sturrey was bought by avid collector and long-time friend of the archive Bojan Ružman. It took 45 days to get to him from the UK, but given the rarity and condition it was definitely worth the wait. The main shot and similar are courtesy of Bojan. Še enkrat hvala, Bojan.
