Overview
Only two of these vintage oiled Birds Eye Maple models (along with two of the Natural Maple version linked below) were created in early 2015 as part of the Mapex / Beyond Shimano Collaboration Series.
The shells are Shimano San's unique super-dry extra-hard maple ply which produces a sharp and crisp tone, with these Birds Eye variants being slightly more "cutting".*

お客様のご注文で久日ぶりにピッコロを作成致しました。All Maple とBird's Eye Mapleの２つのシェルで作成出来ます。バターサイドのエッジはかなりシャープです。ボトムのエッジはやや丸みを持ったベアリングエッジ。シェル単体は１５０グラムまで乾燥させてあります。相当乾いてます。それにオイルビンテージ仕上げですので、メイプル材のトーンが心地良いです。あまり耳うるさく無く、シャープでクリスピーなトーンニュアンスです。ちなみにバーズアイの方がやや硬質感がございます。それぞれ２台づつ完成しました。興味の有る方は是非
*硬質感 is a difficult one - it technically means "hard feeling", but "cutting" is the nearest I can get that makes sense here.
