Overview
This is a properly unique snare that was used by Bob Henrit of The Kinks.
I've never seen any other Black Panther with offset oval lugs. The first BP with offset lugs was the Japanese special edition that was the inspiration for the original Versatus, but that had the later Sculpted Shield lugs. I'm guessing at the relatively shallow 5" depth, as there's no reason to stagger the lugs once you get to 5.5" and above.
It was spotted on an old Reverb listing from Jonathan Kirk's The Music Locker, with the following description...

I am so excited to bring to the market the Bob Henrit Collection. Bob drummed with some of the most incredible bands over the years, most notably The Kinks and Argent. He was quoted as being one of Keith Moon's favourite drummers, and even ran world famous Henrit's Drum Store on Wardour Street, London. He's collected many, many items over the years, and has kept almost everything from the most significant stages of his career. Now is the time to let some of his collection back into the wild, and I have the privilege of doing just that!
This is a lovely Mapex Black Panther snare drum in natural wood. It's in great condition and sounds huge. What you see is what you get. These are genuine and come directly from Bob himself."
Jonathan was kind enough to respond and allow me to use these photos, and I've sent a message to Bob himself to see if I can get any more information.
