Overview
First spotted by long-time contributer Zack Cruz in February 2023, there's very little information available (so far) on this rare Taiwan produced Japan-only model. Zack saw it up for sale on eBay by a Japanese seller and, after a bit of sleuthing, found it on the archived Mapex Japan website. That's more than I was able to do despite a LOT of effort, so I'm currently seeing if Zack can provide a link. I'll also contact Shimano Lefty to see if he remembers anything about it.
During my attempt to find any information about this model, I did manage to find one that had been sold on Yahoo Auctions Japan in 2020. You might need a VPN to access this depending on your location - I certainly did from the UK. There are some nice photos of it, but zero further details unfortunately.
I'm fully aware that this isn't badged as a Black Panther but come on, look at it and tell me it doesn't belong here.
Obviously if anything more comes to light I'll update this listing.
