With an exterior ply of beautifully figured birdseye maple and a clear, high gloss finish, this may be one of the most gorgeous drums we’ve ever offered. But this blonde isn’t just about looks — she sounds great too. The all maple shell delivers crisp, high tone and the 2.3mm Mapex Powerhoops provide superior articulation.
This one caused me quite a bit of grief to pin down. It's listed in the 2007 USA catalogue (the only one it appears in) as a 14"x5.5", and with the same obviously incorrect catalogue number as the Solid Stainless Steel, so I spend several months chasing a ghost. Then in May 2022, I spotted the advert for it in the June 2007 edition of Modern Drummer magazine and that cleared it up - it's actually a 13"x6" and I already had a listing for it - I had it down as "Natural Birdseye".
The example shown here is from a sales site in Singapore called Carosell, and actually appears twice (links below). It was sold and then put up for sale again fairly quickly by the new owner (misterse), who told me that "the snare was great but during that point in time it was not the type of sound we needed at church (think Hillsongs or Bethel). I regret having sold this beauty, couldn’t find one like her again, or at least not in Singapore."
He described it quite well, so I'll leave it to him...

The shallower depth of 6” as compared to the standard 13x7”, provides a quicker and lighter response yet still having a bodied sound and crack that cuts through the mix. Warm timbre from the maple wood. Versatile for both studio and live usage!
