Overview
Bit of a rare one this. Initially spotted in March 2022 on an listing (eBay and Reverb) from Absolute Music in the UK, and then another flagged up on eBay a couple of months later.
13"x7" isn't a tremendously popular size - Rees Bridges told me that he had his signature model specially made by Mapex years ago, as they didn't even make a 13"x7" model shell at the time.
Ben Watton, Absolute Music's Drum Department Manager told me that "(he) contacted Mapex when looking into what this drum was, and apparently the serial number doesn’t correlate to any 'special' or 'collectable' line of Black Panther snares, so it may have been just a short run they did in this size that didn’t do too well." Cheers for the info Ben - might explain why there aren't more of these about.
