Rare Billy Cobham Custom Snare comes to light on social media

Unique snare shows up in Facebook group

Not often you do a proper double-take when scrolling through Facebook of an evening, but on 16 November 2021, my neck nearly snapped off when I spotted a post on the Mapex Drums Fan Page from new member Doug Fuller showing his unique Billy Cobham snare. 

I contacted Doug for more details, and he was kind enough to tolerate my inane questioning (sorry Doug - it was much appreciated!)

Built specifically for Billy Cobham in the early 1990s, it was used by the master himself on tour with Peter Gabriel in 1994, and on the "Spaces Revisited" album with Larry Coryell (all confirmed by Billy himself).
